Murals, street art, or graffiti. Whatever you call it, and if you like colorful places, Shoreditch on the east end of London is the place to tour while visiting the city.

Shoreditch wasn’t a place that I had heard of before researching our trip to London. It’s home to the Brick Lane Market, great clothing shops, along with some amazing restaurants. It also just happened to be a couple of train stops from our rental apartment in Haggerston which made it a breeze to visit.

The first thing you notice is that most of the buildings are blanketed in bright colors and patterns illustrating everything from political messages to mind-altering abstracts that leave you wondering what the artist was thinking. It is truly an exciting place to explore as a photographer.

I have noticed that when people talk about graffiti is seems like they either love or hate it. I’m not a fan of “tagging” but graffiti as an art form is very impressive. The creativity and skill set that goes into working on one of these pieces is so underrated. If you’re like me and enjoy exploring new places with a super creative vibe, Shoreditch should definitely be on your list when visiting London.
